LDCC Ruston Invites Families to a Frightfully Fun STEM Spooktacular

RUSTON, LA – Louisiana Delta Community College’s (LDCC) Ruston Campus is bringing science to life this Halloween season with the STEM Spooktacular, a free, family-friendly event where kids can discover the magic of STEM through hands-on fun. The event will take place on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at 1010 James Street in Ruston.

The STEM Spooktacular is a Halloween-themed celebration designed to make science, technology, engineering, and math exciting and accessible for children of all ages. Visitors will have the chance to explore the science behind everyday activities through engaging demonstrations and activities led by LDCC faculty, staff, and students. From testing aerodynamics with paper planes and helicopters to learning about gravity through cornhole and basketball challenges, every booth offers an opportunity to connect with discovery. Kids can also experiment with physics using LEGO and Jenga builds or explore electricity firsthand in the static electricity demonstration.

“STEM Spooktacular is all about showing kids that science can be fun, hands-on, and creative,” said Ruston Campus Director Patience Talley. “We want every child to leave inspired.”

In addition to trick-or-treating through the educational booths, families can enjoy face painting and hair stencils to take their Halloween looks to the next level. Costumes are encouraged, and all activities are free and open to the public.
