The Ouachita River Blues Society is hosting its annual “ORBS” Blues Challenge. The winners will move on to compete at the International Blues Challenge located in Memphis, Tennessee.
The Ouachita River Blues Society promotes the Blues genre and its history in North Louisiana. Members of this society share a connection for the Blues and support local musicians and venues that showcase the Blues. Their mission: "Our mission is to Honor blues heritage through promotion, education, and support of live music in the Northeast Louisiana Delta."
2024 winners of the “ORBS” challenge for the solo/duo category: Doug Duffey and Dan Sumner. Winners for the band category: Mr. Taylormade.
The Ouachita River Blues Society challenge is Sunday, September 28 at 3:00 p.m. It will be held at the Krewe of Janus Float Den located at 901 Louisville Ave., Monroe, Louisiana.
Musicians challenge entry is $20 at ORBS318.com. Entry deadline is Friday, September 26.
Audience entry fee is $5 to “ORBS” members and $10 nonmembers. Tickets are available at the door.
