Calhoun – On Saturday, September 20, 2025, shortly after 4:00 p.m., Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop F began investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash on Louisiana Highway 15 just south of Glen Acres Road. The crash claimed the life of 31-year-old Dustin Roberts of Downsville.

The initial investigation revealed that a 2018 Mazda CX-5, driven by Roberts, was traveling north on Louisiana Highway 15. At the same time, a 2023 Ford F-150 was traveling south on Louisiana Highway 15. For reasons still under investigation, Roberts crossed over the centerline and struck the Ford head-on in the southbound lane of Louisiana Highway 15.

Roberts, who was properly restrained, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the Ford, who was properly restrained, received minor injury and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Routine toxicology samples were collected and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

Troopers wish to remind motorists to always make good decisions while in a motor vehicle. Never drive impaired, fatigued, or distracted. Follow all traffic laws, and always ensure every occupant is properly restrained. While not all crashes are survivable, taking simple precautions such as these can often mean the difference between life and death.
