Monroe, LA – The University of Louisiana Monroe is proud to present An Evening of Music by Steven Landis on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 7:30 PM. This special concert will showcase original works by composer and double bassist Steven Landis, performed by a distinguished ensemble of nationally recognized artists.

Joining Landis on stage are celebrated guest artists Katherine Altobello, mezzo-soprano, and Claire Vangelisti, soprano, along with acclaimed pianist Richard Seiler. Together, they will bring Landis’ music to life in a program that blends the traditions of Western classical composition with the bold energy of contemporary styles.

Landis, currently a lecturer in composition at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, is known for his adventurous approach to music-making, seamlessly integrating improvisation, performance space, and collaboration into his works. His compositions have been performed across the country and praised for their depth, intensity, and innovative spirit.

Altobello and Vangelisti, both internationally experienced vocalists, have appeared with leading opera companies and orchestras throughout the United States and abroad. Pianist Richard Seiler, Professor of Music at ULM, is a Fazioli Artist whose career includes performances across North America, Europe, and Asia.

This evening of music promises to be an unforgettable artistic experience, showcasing the power of collaboration and the richness of contemporary composition.
