On Sunday, September 28, the Ouachita River Blues Society (ORBS) will host its 3rd annual Blues Challenge. The event will be held at the Krewe of Janus den on Louisville Avenue.

ORBS is now accepting entries for the challenge. The two categories are Bands and Solo/Duo’s. Up to 7 acts for each category will compete and the winners of each category will go to Memphis, Tennessee to represent our area in the International Blues Challenge (IBC) in January.

Last year The Taylor Made Band won the local Band category and advanced to the second round at the IBCs. Doug Duffey and Dan Sunmer won the local Solo/Duo event and connected with musicians from around the country that led to more opportunities.

Acts will be judged in 5 categories, Blues Content, Vocals, Originality, Stage Presence, Instrumental Talent. Entry fee is free to ORBS Members and $5 to nonmembers.

For more information and to register, visit ORBS318.com or email orbs318@gmail.com.
