No Good Horses start Labor Day weekend with free Ouachita Live concert

West Monroe is set to celebrate Labor Day weekend with a lineup of exciting events, kicking off with Ouachita Live’s August show on Friday, Aug. 29. The free concert, held in Alley Park, will feature No Good Horses, a band described as “rock and roll with a cowboy hat.” Attendees can enjoy food trucks and spirits while soaking in the atmosphere of Downtown West Monroe.

The festivities continue with West Monroe’s inaugural Gar Rodeo and Boat & Outdoor Show, running from Aug. 28-30 at the sports and events center. The event promises an array of attractions, including boats, outdoor equipment, and interactive displays. Gar rodeo participants will compete for cash prizes, with the rodeo starting off in Alley Park near the Ouachita Live venue.

Adrienne LaFrance-Wells joins Cory Crowe on KEDM's Lagniappe to discuss the weekend events.

Originally from Monroe, Cory has worked in a variety of media. He has worked in television news and spent seven years as a TV sports play-by-play announcer. He was also creative director for a television advertising department and worked extensively as a photojournalist. Cory has lived in both Dallas and New Orleans.
