Hit & run suspect sought by Monroe Police

The Monroe Police Department is searching for a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident. Authorities say the incident occurred just before 9 p.m. on Monday, August 11, at the intersection of South 3rd Street and Plum Street.

A 61-year-old man was found lying in the road with severe injuries. He later succumbed to those injuries at a nearby hospital.

Police have identified Derrick Richardson as a possible suspect in the case. An arrest warrant has been issued for Richardson on charges of hit-and-run resulting in death or serious bodily injury, as well as obstruction of justice.
