Ouachita Green to recognize environmental champions at annual awards luncheon

Ouachita Green is set to host its Annual Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Monroe Civic Center. The event will celebrate individuals, businesses, and organizations dedicated to enhancing the environment in Ouachita Parish.

Donna Curtis, a seasoned environmental advocate and current board member of Keep Louisiana Beautiful, will deliver the keynote address. Curtis, who previously served as Executive Director of Shreveport Green, will share her expertise on fostering sustainable communities.

The luncheon aims to honor volunteers and partners working on litter abatement, recycling, beautification, and environmental education. “Saying thank you matters,” said Sheila Kay Downhour, Executive Director of Ouachita Green. “This is our way of recognizing those who make our parish cleaner and healthier.”

Attendees will also gain insights into Ouachita Green’s initiatives that impact public health, wildlife protection, and economic development. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available.

For reservations or more information, visit www.ouachitagreen.org or call (318) 355-5622.
