Farmerville, LA – The Union Museum of History and Art is presenting the "Christmas in July" exhibit, running now through July 31. This display invites visitors to experience the magic of December, even in the midst of summer, with a stunning collection of children's artwork titled "Christmas Through My Eyes" and delightful seasonal decorations.
The highlight of this celebration will take place on July 17, from 6 to 8 p.m., with a special Christmas party and awards reception. This family-friendly event will feature the announcement of winners from the children's Christmas card art competition and a visit from Santa Claus and his cheerful elves, spreading holiday cheer to all in attendance.
Vickie Wheelis, Director of the museum joins Cory Crowe on KEDM's Lagniappe to discuss the event.
Students from Union Parish High School, D'Arbonne Woods Charter School, Union Christian Academy, and local home schools participated in the art competition during the school year. The winning artworks will be featured on Christmas cards, which will be available for purchase at the museum later this year. Proceeds from the card sales will support the museum's ongoing programs and initiatives.
