(Ouachita Parish) – On March 3, 2025, OPSO Patrol responded to a burglary at Cash Out Bingo on DeSiard Street. Upon arrival, Cash Out Bingo staff advised approximately $27,000.00 was stolen from the safe. Patrol Deputy’s observed no signs of forced entry into the business or safe, and contacted OPSO Investigations.

OPSO Investigators arrived on the scene and began reviewing security footage from surrounding businesses. Upon review, Investigators observed a Silver Ram pickup arrive during the time frame of the burglary. When Investigators returned to Cash Out Bingo, they observed a silver Ram pickup in the parking lot, matching the pickup discovered in security footage. Investigators learned the pickup belonged to Cash Out Bingo and was assigned to James Nutt, (White/Male), an employee who was responsible for the operation of security cameras at the establishment.

Nutt was transported to OPSO Investigations for questioning and executed search warrants on Nutt’s residence and the assigned silver Ram. During the search of his residence, Investigators recovered a large sum of hidden cash. During questioning, Nutt denied any involvement in the burglary, but later admitted to being responsible for the money found in his residence, admitting it was the stolen money from the safe. Nutt was then placed under arrest for Simple Burglary and transported to OCC for booking.
