The Kiroli Foundation and City of West Monroe have announced the launch of a special historical tour at Hasley Cemetery on Saturday, Nov. 2. Titled “Hasley: Voices of the Past,” the ticketed twilight tour will showcase notable community figures' final resting places, bringing their intriguing tales and legacies to life through storytelling by actors portraying a journey through time. The tour is written and directed by Gayle Frick and Kay LaFrance-Knight, and sponsored by Kilpatrick Funeral Homes.
Scheduled for two different times on Saturday, Nov. 2 – at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. – attendees will meet at West Monroe City Hall before being shuttled to Hasley Cemetery. Limited seating is available per tour, with tickets priced at $20 per person and purchasable online through Eventbrite. The City of West Monroe’s website and Facebook page provide links for ticket purchase.
Tour participants should be prepared for some walking and are encouraged to dress appropriately for outdoor conditions. Proceeds from the tour will support the continuation of the City of West Monroe’s oral history project initiated in 2023.
For further information about the tour, individuals may contact the West Monroe Mayor’s Office at (318) 396-2600 or mayorsoffice@westmonroe.la.gov.
