Hoss Logan to be honored with Northeast Louisiana Music Trail marker and concert in Mer Rouge on Thursday

Legendary announcer of "The Louisiana Hayride" Hoss Logan will be honored with a marker on the Northeast Louisiana Music Trail on Thursday, September 19 in downtown Mer Rouge, Louisiana.

Logan, who's phrase "Elvis has left the building" was working on The Hayride and hundreds of young ladies went wild after a performance of the King of Rock. Logan worked with Elvis Pressley, Johnny Horton, Hank Williams, Willie Nelson and others. He won a radio contest to be a disc jockey in 1932 on Shreveport's KWKH and the rest became history. The Louisiana Hayride was syndicated across the country on CBS in 191 markets.

Doyle Jeter, founder of the Northeast Louisiana Music Trail joins Cory Crowe to talk about Hoss Logan's legacy and the upcoming trail marker.

Originally from Monroe, Cory has worked in a variety of media. He has worked in television news and spent seven years as a TV sports play-by-play announcer. He was also creative director for a television advertising department and worked extensively as a photojournalist. Cory has lived in both Dallas and New Orleans.
