Louisiana Delta's Hats & Horses fundraiser helps scholarship fund

Get ready to don your finest attire and parade your most magnificent hats because Louisiana Delta Community College is presenting its 3rd Annual Hats & Horses Derby Party, bringing a touch of Kentucky charm to the heart of the Delta. The party is May 4th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Monroe campus in the Community Auditorium at 7500 Millhaven Rd.

LDCC's Hats & Horses promises an afternoon steeped in Southern elegance and Derby tradition. The LDCC campus will be transformed into a scene straight out of Churchill Downs, so guests will immerse themselves in the thrill of the race while enjoying the warm hospitality that defines Southern culture.

"Hats & Horses at LDCC is a perfect tradition that brings our community together in true Southern style," said Frank Bennett, Louisiana Delta Community College's director of institutional advancement and alumni relations. "It's a joyous occasion that celebrates our love for our college, students, and community spirit."

From fresh mint juleps to Southern fare straight from Churchill Downs, attendees will indulge in the flavors of the South while partaking in the silent auction, bourbon pull, bourbon tasting, photo booth, and the live stream of the Kentucky Derby. The celebration will also hold a hat and fashion contest, where attendees can showcase their most extravagant headwear and clothing for a chance to win prizes. Hats & Horses proceeds will support LDCC scholarships
