On 4-12-24, at approximately 1:30pm, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff Office was notified a Kansas City Southern (KCS) train had struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian was on the tracks, approximately 500 yards west of the Thomas Road crossing. When deputies arrived on scene they found the pedestrian deceased.
We were able to identify the deceased as Rodney Griffin, 50 years of age, from West Monroe.
The incident is still under investigation at this time, as we wait for toxicology reports to be completed.
