Empty Bowls fundraiser features food & music to help fight hunger in NELA

The Empty Bowls fundraiser helps fight food insecurity in northeast Louisiana. The annual fundraiser helps the Foodbank of Northeast Louisiana serve people and families in a twelve-parish area. The fundraiser is from 11 a.m - 1 p.m. Saturday, April 6 at the Monroe Civic Center. A $40 ticket gets you a custom handmade pottery bowl. Sixteen local restaurants will fill the bowls with food. Music will be provided by The Toby, Jeff, and Chris Trio. There will also be a live painter and potter during the event.

Taylor Costa and Sarah Hoffman join Cory Crowe for Lagniappe.

Originally from Monroe, Cory has worked in a variety of media. He has worked in television news and spent seven years as a TV sports play-by-play announcer. He was also creative director for a television advertising department and worked extensively as a photojournalist. Cory has lived in both Dallas and New Orleans.
