The 2nd Annual Blessing of the Academic Year hosted by St. Thomas’ on the Bayou Episcopal Church at 3706 Bon Aire Drive is scheduled Thursday, August 17, at 4:30 p.m.
“We began this tradition to support and inspire educators and all who come together to face the challenges of the coming academic year,” said The Rev. Rita Jefferson, St. Thomas’ priest in charge.
The worship service will consist of specially chosen music and prayers. Jefferson will preach a short homily. Holy Communion will be offered for all baptized Christians. Educators of all faith traditions are welcome.
A wine and cheese reception will follow the service in the parish hall. St. Thomas’ on the Bayou Episcopal Church is located at 3706 Bon Aire Dr., Monroe
