Benoit Rec Center Closing for 30 Days

The City of Monroe announced the temporary closure of Benoit Recreation Center due to essential construction work taking place in the parking lot. The closure will last for approximately 30 days, starting from May 26, 2023.

The Community Center Youth Summer Camp registrants who were scheduled to attend Benoit’s camp will be contacted and redirected to three alternative locations: Saul Adler, Powell, or Emily P Robinson Community Centers. The capacity limit for the summer program at these three locations will be increased from 75 to 100, enabling the City to accommodate the additional registrants effectively.

The City will evaluate the need to reopen the Benoit summer program on June 20th, depending on the capacity of summer program participants and the ability to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Any events, meetings, or programs originally planned to take place at Benoit will be redirected to one of the other five community centers in the area. For any further updates or inquiries regarding the closure of Benoit or the Youth Summer Program, please contact Patience Talley at patience.talley@ci.monroe.la.us or 318-816-2262.
