Health Programs Sought For Grant Cycle

The Living Well Foundation begins its grant cycle for area programs.

Regional health programs may apply for funding in the Living Well Foundation's fall grant cycle. Executive Director Alice Prophit says this year's focus is on healthy lifestyles.

"Programs should be directed toward children ranging from birth to 18. This includes wellness and health initiatives, including medical and mental health services," she said.

The foundation was created from revenue during the sale of Glenwood Regional Medical Center to IASIS Health Care in 2006. Over $2.8 million has been granted in the service area of Region 8 since 2007.

Prophit says the board is seeking current grantees and new programs or services to apply. Online applications begin September 1. "We will have training sessions on August 20 & 21 at the West Monroe Chamber at 10 a.m. both days," she said.
