Monroe Wins Cleanest City

Mayor Friday Ellis and the City of Monroe are excited to announce that Monroe has been awarded the Cleanest City State Award (by division) by the Louisiana Garden Club Federation.

This designation would not have been possible without the hard work of City of Monroe employees. Mayor Ellis says, “I am very proud of how hard the men and women of the Public Works and Community Affairs departments work to make sure our city is clean and beautiful. We get calls every day about how hardworking city employees are; we also recognize there is more work to be done, but this award is a reflection of their hard work.”

The official award presentation will take place Friday, June 18th at 11:45 a.m. in the Monroe City Council Chambers.
