SYAA Brings Holiday Tunes from 42nd Street: Christmas on Broadway 2

Strauss Youth Academy for the Arts presents "Christmas on Broadway 2" December 7, 8 9, 15, and 16. The show features favorite holiday tunes from musicals on Broadway.

"Christmas on Broadway 2" is the sixth annual Christmas-themed musical theatre cabaret at SYAA. The show this year takes the SYAA students to auditions for a big Broadway Christmas spectacular in New York, with a storyline parallel to A Chorus Line.

The show features almost seventy amazing performers and a whole host of Broadway Christmas
standards. These are songs like “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas,” “We Need a Little
Christmas,” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” SYAA also tweaked some not-so Christmasy
Broadway songs to have a little holiday flair to them, including “Too Darn Hot” from Kiss Me, Kate,
and “Le Jazz Hot” from the musical Victor/Victoria.

Public performances are as follows:

  • Fri., Dec. 7, 7 p.m.
  • Sat., Dec. 8, 2 p.m.
  • Sun., Dec. 9, 3 p.m.
  • Sat., Dec. 15, 2 & 7 p.m.
  • Sun., Dec. 16, 3 p.m.
