From Monroe to the Met: Tenor Arnold Rawls Performs Concert in West Monroe

The concert has been an idea of Mark Ross Clark and Arnold Rawls for years.

Metropolitan Opera Tenor Soloist Arnold Rawls is performing Sunday, September 9 at 6 p.m. at The Assembly in West Monroe. Rawls is a native of West Monroe and is joined by the choirs of his alma maters, West Monroe High School Rebel Choir and University of Louisiana Monroe Concert Choir.

The concert features some of Rawls' favorite songs and arias, as well as hymn arrangements by Dr. DH Clark. He is joined by a choir of 130+ backup singers from West Monroe High School and University of Louisiana Monroe. Rawls attended both West Monroe HS and ULM, which was known as Northeast Louisiana University at the time.

Tickets are $10 general admission or $5 for students and can be purchased at Fiesta Nutrition Center, the Arts Council office, or online. More information is available by calling 318-342-3247.
