Kicking Cancer with Camp Quality

Camp Quality is an international organization that helps serves families with kids dealing with cancer. This year is the Louisiana Camp Quality's 28th year of service to the community.

Camp Quality is a one week camp for children with cancer and their siblings to get away from everything and experience a carefree week at camp. Director of the camp, Alan Barth, shares the camp's goal is, " letting kids with cancer be kids again". This year the camp will be held at King's Camp in Mer Rouge, Louisiana the week of July 23- 28. Kids that attend the camp are able to do ropes courses, go horseback riding, play Frisbee golf, and make arts and crafts.

The camp is still looking for volunteers to help with the kids and setting up. Each kid has their own volunteer or companion that spends the whole week with them, and there are usually 30 to 35 campers during the week.

Camp Quality is completely community funded through donations and fundraisers. More information on how to donate, volunteer, or enroll a child can be found here or by calling Alan Barth at 318-547-4319.
