The Louisiana Master Gardener Program is a volunteer development program offered by the LSU AgCenter.

Saturday, April 8th the Northeast Louisiana Master Gardeners Association is holding its annual spring plant sale, Spring Fest. The sale, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and pre sale, Friday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., will be held at the West Monroe Farmer's Market under the water tower.

This year will make the ninth annual Spring Fest. The plants for sale are specially picked for their strength in withstanding Louisiana's heat and humidity. Some of the plants offered will include 20 different varieties of tomatoes, culinary herbs, and a wide range of ornamental plants such as trees and shrubs. Also available at the sale will be the Carolina Reaper, the hottest pepper available for purchase. Many of the plants included in the sale were hand grown by the Master Gardeners.

More information on the Northeast Louisiana Master Gardeners can be found here.
