Lions, Tigers, and Boos, Oh My!

Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo
The Louisiana Purchase Zoo has over 400 different animals in its exhibits.

Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo is hosting its annual Halloween event, Boo at the Zoo, Saturday, October 29th from 10 a.m.to 3 p.m. This year's theme, PokeMonKEE, is all things Pokemon and monkeys.

Boo at the Zoo will be a full day of fun with costume contests, prizes, photo opportunities, and a magician. The zoo will also be giving one of their lions, Baja, a new boomer ball (an indestructible ball made for wild cats).

Admission is $7. All the proceeds from this event will go to the zoo's train fund to get a new train for the zoo. The Louisiana Purchase Zoo is a non profit, meaning that all the money they earn stays within the zoo society.

Heather Moore of the Zoological Society says, "There is a lot that goes into the zoo, and we need people's support to be the zoo this area wants it to be. We're not giving up".
