The City of Monroe is strongly urging residents of River Oaks, Louis Locke and Rowan Circle to evacuate their homes.

Residents in those areas or in other areas of Monroe needing help in evacuating can call 9-1-1. Monroe Fire, Police and Transit have evacuated over one hundred residents already.

A second evacuation shelter has been opened at Johnson Community Center at 2800 Berg Jones Lane.
