Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office will host a shooting challenge to raise money for Chennault Aviation and Military Museum.

Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office (OPSO) will host a shooting challenge to raise money for Chennault Aviation and Military Museum. The fundraiser will help supplement museum finances after the reduction of state funding.

T.C. Trichel, shooting challenge Spokeswoman, says the fundraiser was planned before learning about the museum's reduced funding. "We're really looking forward to be able to help them. When we met with Nell about hosting this, she then told us about how the Chennault Aviation Museum was separating from the Secretary of State. We had no idea. It was a blessing in disguise." Trichel says.

The event will have a shooter safety training session before the event begins.

The shooting challenge will take place Saturday, July 18 at the OPSO Public Shooting Range in West Monroe. Early registration for the event ends June 28.
