ARCO Celebrates 60 Years

arcomonroe.org

A Day of Appreciation recognizes the relationship between ARCO and the community.

On Saturday, family-friendly activities fill the grounds of the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe.  The Hamiltons created what would become ARCO, a service focused on assisting those with developmental disabilities.  The agency now assisted individuals with a broad range of disabilities.

A disc golf competition awards prizes for top finishers during the celebration.  Jumpers, slides, face painting and more await children.  Adults can enjoy several activities during the day.  "It is our way of saying 'thanks' to the entire area for so many years of partnering with us in providing services," says ARCO Resource Development Director Missy Fleming.

Saturday night, the day culminates with a comedy performance from Second City.  The skit-based show take on the headlines and happenings of Monroe and West Monroe in hilarious sketches by the comedy troupe.  Proceeds from the show go toward ARCO projects and services in northeast Louisiana.

General admission tickets for the Second City event is $14.95.  More information is available at www.arcomonroe.org or by calling Missy Fleming at 372-7817.
