Wellspring Notes Program Growth in Annual Meeting

The Wellspring presented highlights of 2014 during their annual meeting Thursday.  The organization oversees several community-based programs focused on improving quality of life for northeast Louisiana residents.

"An increase in services, growth in our Big Brothers and Big Sisters program, and such a increase in the homeless program, that it's had to be divided into two sections," says Wellspring Chief Operating Officer Jane Brandon.

The number of clients grew by over 12 percent last year.  Service units, defined by counseling sessions and crisis calls jumped 8 percent in 2014.  Brandon says it was a successful effort in a year of transition for the agency.  The reorganization involved a second executive position brought on in an administrative role.

Service awards were presented during the program.  Marsha Newhouse was recognized as Volunteer of the Year Award.  Christina Oliveaux received the Marjorie P. Benson "Joy Of Living" Award honoring outstanding service and commitment of an individual with Wellspring.
