Starr Homeplace

Starr Homeplace is in need of volunteers for its creative community.

Starr Homeplace is a Heritage and Creative Center in Oak Ridge, Louisiana. According to the director, Joe Rolfe, the complex has 19 buildings that house wood lathes and milling machines, a printing press, metal shops, quilting and loom rooms, a sheet metal shop and much more.

June 14-16, Starr Homeplace has an upcoming 2 ½ day blacksmithing class with one seat left for $150 and a beginning welding class on June 22, for $65, that also has only one seat available. They will also be hosting Community Days on September 14 and October 12 as an opportunity for the creative people of the area to come together and interact on a monthly basis. Admission for Community Days is $5 a person For more information on Starr Homeplace and their events visit www.starrhomeplace.org
