West Monroe High School Presents Little Shop of Horrors

The 'plant' prop was borrowed from Music Theatre International based out of New York City.

This weekend, April 6th through the 9th, West Monroe High School's Drama Department will be presenting its spring musical, Little Shop of Horrors. The musical will be held at West Monroe High School's Auditorium.

The musical Little Shop of Horrors follows the story of a mysterious alien disguised as a plant that popped up one day in the New York area. The plant grows throughout the play, and as the play progresses, main character Seymour, realizes the plant's need for human blood. Lucky for the plant, there is a dentist who no one in the cast would miss.

The students at West Monroe High School along with stage director Mrs. Vickie Freeman and musical director Mr. Greg Oden began the process of auditions in January. Auditions were followed by practices and dress rehearsals eventually leading up to the performances. The West Monroe Drama Department aims to provide talented students with a musical and acting experience of performing a live show with live musicians.
