Lincoln Parish Library Sharing Much More than Books

Margie Mealer
Hampstead Stage Company is based in New Hampshire but send acting teams all over the U.S. Two actors, usually college-age, perform all the roles in the play. They also will have a question and answer session after their performance.

The Lincoln Parish Library has two exciting events coming up in the next two weeks. Tuesday, March 28th, the Hampstead Stage Company will be performing the Secret Garden in the library's events center. The following week the library will be hosting its Easter Celebration on April 2nd.

The Secret Garden is based of the book written in 1911 by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The play tells the story of the life of a young girl named Mary and her travels from India to England and house to house. Mary's life is pulled in different directions throughout the play. She starts as a spoiled girl raised by servants, but finds herself curious and caring as the story goes on. The Secret Garden will be performed at 6:30 p.m.

Lincoln Parish Library's Easter Celebration will also create a reason to go out to the library's events center. This event begins at 2 p.m. and will include an indoor egg hunt, special prizes, arts and crafts, and a parade led by the Easter Bunny himself. At the end of the parade children can have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny.

More information on both of these events can be found here.
