ULM VAPAs production of the Opera: Rusalka

MONROE, LA — ULM School of Visual and Performing Arts presents Rusalka, the enchanting fairytale opera by Antonín Dvořák, directed by Justin Havard. Performances will take place October 23–25 at 7 p.m. at Northminster Church, 2701 Lamy Lane, Monroe, Louisiana. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.com, and are $15 for General Admission, and free for students with a valid student ID.

In a statement from the director, Justin Havard, the opera is based on Hans Christian Anderson's The Little Mermaid, the one with a sad ending, and some other Czech folktales. According to Havard, this would be a great introduction to the world of opera for those who have never to an opera before.

This production of Rusalka adds a narrator, working to make the show more approachable to people who have never been to an opera before.

Tickets are available at eventbrite.com/rusalka-tickets
