The Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Division of Probation and Parole, will hold a graduation and swearing in ceremony on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Louisiana State Police Training Academy Auditorium in Baton Rouge.
The ceremony will mark the graduation of 14 new agents who will be responsible for supervising probationers and parolees in probation and parole districts across Louisiana.
The 18-week P.O.S.T. (Peace Officers Standards and Training) Academy began in April and the agents completed testing on August 3, 2023. After completing their final week of training, the new agents will be assigned to 10 of the 22 district offices statewide, which include Amite, Baton Rouge, Covington, Jefferson, Lake Charles, Monroe, New Orleans, Tallulah, Ville Platte, and West Baton Rouge.
These agents will be responsible for supervising approximately 46,320 offenders released into communities statewide on probation, parole, diminution of sentence, or medical furlough.
