West Monroe Chamber Gears Up for St. Patrick's Day Bicycle Parade and Festival

The West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce hosts the 11th annual St. Patrick's Day Bicycle Parade and Festival on Saturday, March 11 from 10 a.m. to 1p.m. in Kiroli Park.

The family oriented event feature art, crafts, food, live music, contests. Admission is free from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The normal park fee of $1 per person fee applies after 12 p.m.

Kristopher Kelley, executive director of WMWO Chamber, says the bike parade is not a race around Kiroli Park, but a gentle loop around the soccer fields.

"We're so excited to do this every year with our community partners. It's a great time! Come out with all those kiddos and dress up those little kiddos!" exclaimed Kelley. Contest Judging begins at 11 a.m. for most festive child under 5, most festive child 6 and over, and most festive ride.

Perks of the event include specialty green lemonade and door prizes. The lineup for the bicycle parade starts at 12 p.m. KEDM provides story time at the gazebo with readers from the University of Louisiana Monroe Student Occupational Therapy Association and stories about about Irish heritage in Louisiana.
