This time of year, even people who have no interest at all in growing plants find themselves purchasing and displaying living plants as an element of holiday decorating. If you're not accustomed to taking care of indoor plans, this episode of Bayou Garden will be especially helpful.

To begin with, protect your plant when you're transporting it. Make sure it doesn't get crushed or tipped over in the car. Poinsettias are particularly fragile. It's good to have them sleeved before taking them from the store.

Light and water are important elements to give attention to when you're caring for your holiday plant.
