Roads Clearing After Snow

KEDM

The winter blast that brought up to 4 inches of snow in several locations across north Louisiana has passed.  Temperatures dipped below freezing during the overnight hours, but have bounced back above the mark.  Frozen precipitation has melted on roadways in the region.

Department of Transportation and Development's Rodney Mallett says there are still some trouble spots remaining.  "Bridges and overpasses are still hazardous," he said.  DOTD urges motorists to remain very cautious if traveling early Thursday.  "Some of these bridges and elevated sections will need several hours above freezing to see decent surface conditions," said Mallett.

State transportation officials remind drivers to allow some extra time to reach destinations today.  Updated road information is found at 511LA.org.
