Severe Weather Risk Continues Through Wednesday

The National Weather Service (NWS) warns the ArkLaTex that the chances of severe weather will continue through Wednesday, with the highest risk anticipated on Tuesday, April 28.

On Tuesday, potential hazards could include hail reaching two inches in diameter or more, straight-line winds surpassing 60 miles per hour, and tornadoes.

A slight risk for severe weather has been issued across the area, indicating that conditions are conducive for scattered severe storms throughout much of east Texas, north Louisiana, southern Arkansas, and southeast Oklahoma.

Severe thunderstorms could last into the evening and nighttime hours until Wednesday, April 29. The NWS suggests that the changing weather pattern will provide several chances for storms that could produce large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes.

On Wednesday, another marginal risk is expected, primarily affecting most of Louisiana and parts of east Texas south of Interstate 20. Storms may produce hail close to one inch in diameter, damaging winds, and a low-end tornado threat.
