The Archdiocese of New Orleans has finished the sale of several apartment complexes that provide housing to low‑income seniors.
The real estate developer has stated in a press release that the apartments will remain affordable housing and that current residents will be allowed to stay in their homes. No immediate changes to residency requirements are planned.
Proceeds from the sale will be placed into a trust. Those funds will be distributed to survivors of clergy sexual abuse as part of a bankruptcy settlement.
