The Louisiana State University Golf Course is set to close permanently.

The decision to close the 18-hole golf course located off of Nicholson Drive was made after evaluation of operational priorities, financial stewardship, and long-term planning needs.

The course generated $554,748 in revenue in the fiscal year 2025. But expenses totaled $582,588.

The university proposes plans to use the land the golf course is on as the location for the new LSU Arena. The long-discussed arena would serve as a live-entertainment venue and sports arena.

The course will remain open May 9 through June 30, when the course will permanently close.
