(Monroe, La.) — The City of Monroe has announced the completion of its council-directed redistricting process, stating that updated district boundaries will guide representation on the Monroe City Council for the next decade. According to the City’s announcement, the review determined that Monroe’s district structure remains fair and compliant with legal requirements, with only minor adjustments made between Districts 1 and 4 to account for population changes.
City officials also noted that the redistricting process maintained the overall structure of existing council districts and preserved three majority-minority districts. The review was conducted in partnership with North Delta Regional Planning, which assisted the Council in analyzing demographic data and evaluating potential boundary adjustments.
