The West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber wants to shape the future, and they need the help of local businesses. The West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber is calling on businesses to step forward and host students on March 3 through March 4 for a high-impact workplace experience. Job Shadow Day is an opportunity for businesses develop the talent pipeline their industry depends on.
This workforce initiative connects carefully vetted local juniors and seniors with real workplaces, real professionals, and real career pathways. The students leave with clearer goals, and the businesses gain visibility, community, leadership, credibility, and early connection to emerging talent.
The businesses will only need to provide a tour of their workplace. An overview of what their business does, and why it matters. Insight into skills, training, and career pathways. Hands-on exposure where appropriate. Lunch before students return to school. The West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber would appreciate businesses ready to open their doors. The Schedule for Job Shadow Day is as follows.
March 3 — Ouachita, Richwood & Sterlington High Schools Students
March 4 — West Ouachita & West Monroe High Schools Students
Student Visit Hours: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
This isn’t a sit-back program. This is workforce development in action. Spots fill based on student career interests. Waiting means missing the chance to connect with students who could be your future workforce. Register now online: https://www.westmonroechamber.org/chamber/job-shadow-day.
