Ochsner Eat Fit Challenges Louisianians to go Alcohol Free for 40 days.

Ochsner Health encourages locals to go without alcohol, prioritizing healthy habits after the conclusion of the Mardi Gras season on February 19th.

Ochsner Eat Fit 11th annual Alcohol Free For 40 Challenge brings attention to the benefits of elimination of alcohol on the mind and body. Eliminating alcohol intake, even temporarily, can lead to better sleep, increased energy and improved focus within those 40 days.

On average, participants in the challenge see measurable health improvements, including a four-pound loss of body fat, a 13-point reduction in cholesterol, a 28-point drop in triglycerides and improvements in systolic blood pressure.

Registration is now open, enroll by midnight on Jan. 15 on AlcoholFreeFor40.com for the early bird special price of just $49. After that deadline, you can sign up for $59 with the general registration deadline is Sunday, Feb. 15.
