Heavy rain and severe weather threat Monday / Monday night

NOAA / NWS Shreveport

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to begin early Monday morning and will progress slowly across the region through Monday night.

There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms, particularly in portions of East Texas, Deep East Texas, southwestern Arkansas, and northern Louisiana. These storms may bring hail, damaging winds, and the possibility of a few tornadoes, with the threat being most pronounced from late Monday afternoon through much of Monday night.

Additionally, there is a slight risk of flash flooding across much of the Four State Region during this period, with the highest potential for flooding along and northwest of the I-30 corridor, where a Flash Flood Watch has been issued.

The primary weather threats are expected to gradually clear from west to east by Monday night, paving the way for cooler and drier conditions to settle in by Wednesday and continue through Thanksgiving.
