Project to create 40 new jobs and enhance manufacturing and recycling capabilities

PINEVILLE, La. (November 18, 2025) — Plastipak Packaging Inc. announced a $53.8 million, 200,000-square-foot expansion of its Rapides Parish manufacturing facility. The project will add warehouse space, up to five new production lines, and upgrades to increase the use of recycled plastic, boosting both efficiency and sustainability.

The expansion is projected to create 15 direct new jobs, retain 340 existing positions, and generate 25 additional indirect jobs, for a total of 40 new positions in Central Louisiana. The project is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2026.

“The new production lines and warehouse expansion strengthen Central Louisiana’s manufacturing base and create opportunities for local workers,” said LED Secretary Susan B. Bourgeois. “Modernizing core industries like manufacturing is essential to building competitive regions across Louisiana.”

The expanded warehouse will accommodate raw materials and finished products, while production upgrades will include conveyor and compression systems, molds, labeling, and printing systems. These improvements will increase Plastipak’s production capacity and support its sustainability goals.

“Plastipak has benefited greatly from the support of local and state officials over the past 20 years,” said Ed Morgan, President and CEO of Plastipak Holdings. “This investment allows us to expand our manufacturing and recycling capabilities while continuing to serve our customers in Louisiana.”

The expansion is supported by Louisiana Economic Development incentives, including workforce development programs, the Industrial Tax Exemption, and participation in the Quality Jobs program.
