On November 5, 2025 deputies from the Ouachita Correctional Center (OCC) were notified of a medical emergency involving an inmate. Upon arrival at the cell, deputies discovered an inmate unresponsive. Several life-saving measures were attempted; however, they were unsuccessful.
Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigators were notified of the incident and responded to the scene. A review of security footage from the inmate’s cell showed no signs of foul play. The inmate was transported for autopsy, and results are currently pending.
This remains an active investigation.
