The Louisiana Architecture Foundation (LAF), Northeast Louisiana Children’s Museum and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Monroe will jointly host the Monroe premiere of the film documentary Ancestral Artistry: "The Influence of Africans & Creoles of Color on Louisiana Architecture.” The film illuminates the industrial legacy of African and European culture and how it is portrayed through technique and artistry used today. Displaying its deep respect for Ancestral History hoping to encourage others to honor the hands that build Louisiana and protect its heritage.
The film will be screened at The NELA Children's Museum, located at 323 Walnut Street on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 7 p.m.
