Severe Weather Possible Across Northeast Louisiana This Weekend

Northeast Louisiana could see an active stretch of weather Saturday as a strong cold front pushes into the region. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to increase by afternoon and continue into the evening and overnight hours.

The National Weather Service has placed the area under a Slight Risk for severe storms, with damaging winds being the primary concern. While the threat is lower, large hail and a few tornadoes can’t be ruled out.

The most impactful weather is expected to begin early to mid-afternoon in southeast Oklahoma and northeast Texas, then spread east into south Arkansas and north Louisiana late afternoon through the evening.

Temperatures will remain warm before the front arrives, but conditions should improve by Sunday as cooler, drier air settles into the area.

Residents are urged to monitor forecasts, secure outdoor items, and be prepared to take shelter if storms strengthen.
