The ULM Wind Ensemble opens its 2025–2026 season building on the success of their recent Carnegie Hall performance with Currents of Time and Memory, an evening of music that reflects on the ways memory, culture, and rhythm shape our lives.
This powerful program moves from moments of quiet reflection to exhilarating bursts of energy.
Audiences will experience the spiritual steadfastness of David Gillingham’s No Shadow of Turning, Michael Daugherty’s evocative tribute to the Mississippi River in Reflections on the Mississippi featuring guest artist Dr. Allen Parrish on tuba, Valerie Coleman’s vibrant cultural storytelling in Roma, and the electrifying rhythmic drive of Sam Hazo’s Sevens. Together, these works promise a journey where memory flows, culture thrives, and time dances.
The ULM Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Nicholas Bratcher, Director of the School of Visual and Performing Arts. The concert will be held on Tuesday, October 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Brown Auditorium. General admission is $5; ULM students with ID are free.
