The City of Monroe, Louisiana, is preparing for a day of festivities to mark the Fourth of July weekend. Events are scheduled for July 5, offering activities for all ages and culminating in a spectacular fireworks display.
The day will kick off bright and early with the Firecracker 5K and 1K Fun Run at 7:30 a.m. Hosted by Fit Time 365 at 701 N. 4th Street, this event requires prior registration and promises an invigorating start to the celebrations.
At 10:00 a.m., attendees can enjoy the Good Daze Block Party and Market in Art Alley, located at 111 Art Alley, featuring local vendors and entertainment. Following this, Bayou Quest will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Fontenot’s Cajun Way, situated at 436 Desiard Street.
For those looking to explore Monroe’s nightlife, the Downtown Pub Crawl will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with check-in at Parlor 5, located at 428 Desiard Street.
As the evening progresses, the 5th Annual Downtown Block Party at the River Market will commence at 7:00 p.m., providing live entertainment and a festive atmosphere along the riverfront.
The day’s celebrations will conclude with "Fireworks over the Twin Cities" at 9:00 p.m. The breathtaking display can be viewed from Downtown Monroe, Downtown West Monroe, or the West Monroe Levee, offering multiple vantage points for spectators to enjoy.
