Ouachita Parish seeks fire recruits

The Ouachita Parish Fire Department is actively seeking dedicated individuals to join their team as firefighters and support personnel

Fire Chief Bobby More and Administrative Assistant Kaitlyn Roark recently shared their experiences and motivations for joining the department, emphasizing the sense of purpose and camaraderie that comes with the role.

To provide more information about joining the department, an interest meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday evening at the Ouachita Parish Fire Center, located on New Natchitoches Road in West Monroe. This meeting will offer prospective recruits an opportunity to learn about the application process, job responsibilities, and the training required to become a firefighter or support staff member.

Originally from Monroe, Cory has worked in a variety of media. He has worked in television news and spent seven years as a TV sports play-by-play announcer. He was also creative director for a television advertising department and worked extensively as a photojournalist. Cory has lived in both Dallas and New Orleans.
